But despite the fact that they make frequent public appearances and speeches some world leaders haven’t ‘cracked the code’ and don’t hit the right mark when they’re addressing their nation. We have analysed more than 100 hours of footage from press conferences, assemblies, political events and other public appearances over the last 12 months to rank the most eloquent world leaders based on their communication and public speaking skills.

COVID-19 May Never Go Away — With Or Without A Vaccine

The Muslim Times

corona The Muslim Times has the best collection of articles for the war against Covid 19, especially the vaccines.

Source: NPR

Humans have never been particularly good at eradicating entire viruses, and COVID-19 might not be any different.

More than 19 million people have tested positive for the coronavirus globally, and at least 722,000 have died. In the U.S., nearly 5 million people have tested positive and more than 160,000 have died. While scientists are racing to find a cure for the virus, there’s a chance COVID-19 will never fully go away — with or without a vaccine.

But that doesn’t mean everyone will have to self-isolate forever.

Vineet Menachery, a coronavirus researcher at the University of Texas Medical Branch, told NPR’s Weekend Edition that one of the more likely scenarios is that the spread of COVID-19 will eventually be slowed as a result of herd immunity…

Many couples are putting pregnancy plans on hold because of the pandemic

The Extinction Chronicles

Recently engaged, Tracy Leong, 31, and her fiancé hoped 2020 or 2021 might be the year to start their family. A lifelong New Yorker, she felt sure that with lots of support from her parents, a sister and cousins who still live nearby, she could also keep her job in communications.

But when the coronavirus, lockdown measures and social distancing came to New York, her plans changed. Pregnancy was put on hold.

“The pandemic has totally thrown off what we’ve envisioned our family to be like,” Leong said in a telephone interview with CBS News. “This isn’t it.”

Leong isn’t alone. About a third of women say they’re delaying pregnancy or want fewer children because of the pandemic, according to a recent study published by the Guttmacher Institute. It’s a shift in sentiment that could…

Chicago unrest and looting sees 100 arrests, 13 officers hurt: “This was an assault on our city”

The Extinction Chronicles

More than 100 people were arrested Monday following a night of looting and unrest that left 13 officers injured and caused damage in the city’s upscale Magnificent Mile shopping district and other parts of the city, authorities said. CBS Chicago reports Police Superintendent David Brown said it was “an incident of pure criminality” that was prompted by the shooting of a person by police the previous day in the city’s Englewood neighborhood.
At one point early Monday, shots were fired at police and officers returned fire, but no injuries were reported. Brown said a heavy police presence is expected in the downtown area until further notice.

“This was straight up, felony criminal conduct,” said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. “This was an assault on our city.”

Those arrested were expected to face charges including looting, disorderly conduct, battery against police. Lightfoot said that the city has activated a…

Era of US Domination of Latin America Coming to an End

The Most Revolutionary Act

By Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers
Popular Resistance.

Despite its failings at home, the United States intervenes in countries across multiple continents seeking to control their governments and resources.

This week, we look at the US’ latest efforts in Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Bolivia to undermine their independence and force them to serve the interests of the US government and transnational corporations.

In all three countries, the US has displayed a lack of understanding of the people and their support for their revolutionary processes, and as a result, is failing. As US empire fades, so might the Monroe Doctrine come to an end.

Declared a ‘disaster city’ by Lebanese authorities, Beirut has been rocked to its core. The shocking images of a terrible explosion in Beirut on Tuesday 4th August 2020 have not only left Beirut in a state of emergency, but have sent shockwaves around the world. As more images and videos leave the world in absolute horror, one can only imagine the absolute tragedy being faced by the citizens of Beirut. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those people affected in Lebanon.

Reports suggest that 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse near the Port area ignited, causing the huge mushroom cloud and mega-explosion that left the surrounding area flattened and was felt as far away as Cyprus. So far, 135 fatalities have been confirmed, but will almost certainly…

If a nuclear bomb is dropped on your city, here’s where you should run and hide

The Muslim Times

Finding a good shelter as soon as possible and going inside is critical to surviving fallout

President Trump has egged on a new arms race. Russia violated weapons treaties to upgrade its nuclear arsenal. North Korea is developing long-range missiles and practising for nuclear war — and the US military is considering preemptive attacks on the isolated nation’s military facilities.

Meanwhile, nuclear terrorism and dirty bombs remain a sobering threat.

Though these events are unlikely to trigger the last-ditch option of nuclear war, let alone a blast in your neighbourhood, they are very concerning.

So you might be wondering, “If I survive a nuclear-bomb attack, what should I do?”

Michael Dillon, a Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory researcher, crunched the numbers and helped figure out just that in a 2014 study published in…

While it was not a nuclear blast, Tuesday’s Beirut explosions served as an unapologetic reminder to the world of the devastating carnage that weapons of mass destruction can entail. People quickly took to Twitter, calling the blast reminiscent of a small nuclear explosion. A smoking building warped into a devouring monster of relentless energy and flames within a second. The blast radius was recorded from numerous angles: smartphones, dashcams, security footage. Even a bridal shoot happening at the time recorded the unceasing torque of the explosion. Everything in its way was either hurled back or decimated.

First-hand eyewitnesses remark that it was the deadliest explosion they have ever seen…

General Strike: The Eviction Crisis Escalates

Cancel Rent! Cancel Mortgages! Sheet and Banner Drop ...

With an estimated 17 to 40 million people at risk of losing their homes by the end of September, and with the failure of the federal government to pass an eviction moratorium or an unemployment benefits extension, the greatest eviction and foreclosure crisis since the Great Depression is now upon us. In some states in the Southeast, as many as 60% of renters are at risk of being evicted, and people of color are likely to be hit disproportionately hard. The Census Bureau’s Household Pulse survey in July, for example, highlighted that 42% of Black renters felt little to no confidence in their ability to pay rent this August, compared to 21% of White renters. For the percentage of renter households at risk of eviction in each state.

It is no surprise that across the country, renters being threatened with destitution are taking a stand to put a stop…

The Vaccine Unicorn – Coronavirus Vaccine Distribution Will Be ‘Joint Venture’ Between CDC And Pentagon (US Military) Per Trump Executive Order – Covid-19 And Operation Red Dawn – Human Rights Violating Communist China Illogic Logic Of Locking Up Entire Healthy Population | A Green Road Journal

AGR Daily News

Pandemics have been responded to with effective testing, tracking and isolation of infected individuals plus their contacts, but never in human history has an entire healthy population been locked up as if EVERYONE is infected. What makes this much worse, is that in past epidemics or pandemics, infected individuals have been locked up for between 14 to 40 days, but never before in human history has an entirely healthy population been put under house arrest for MONTHS, to potentially YEARS at a time, while also devastating an entire global economy..

What makes it even more strange is that just a few billionaires are PROFITING from this pandemic, as everyone else is suffering and dying. Could that be the plan? Until Communist China violated human and civil rights by locking up an entire region, this brutal human rights and Constitution violating tactic has never been attempted before. China is a despotic…

Bandannas, gaiters and knitted masks are some of the least effective face coverings for preventing the spread of coronavirus, according to a new study.

Researchers at Duke University made the discovery while testing 14 different types of masks, according to the study published Friday.

N95 masks, often used by healthcare professionals, worked best to stop the transmission of respiratory droplets during regular speech.

Other good performers at stopping leakage were three-layer surgical masks and cotton masks, which can be made at home, the researchers with Duke’s physics department found.

There are lines that must never be crossed. For the Tesla community, one such line was crossed recently, after a video was shared on Twitter showing a fellow Tesla owner abandoning a yellow labrador at Orchards Park in Vancouver, WA. The clip was quite shocking, as it showed the dog’s owner seemingly tricking the pooch before coldly leaving it behind.

The incident spread across the Tesla community over the weekend, and it did not take long before numerous netizens were calling for the dog’s owner to be reprimanded. KATU News reporter Kellee Azar took to Twitter to voice her frustration at the incident as well, stating that “no dog, animal or person should be treated this way.”

Fortunately, the incident was recorded by a neighboring resident’s surveillance camera. Amidst the video’s spread on social media, an investigation was promptly started and…
